The brand was launched on the German market in January 2008. During the supply shortages of 2007 the Hämmerling Group decided to produce their own tyre brand. Its success has proved them right - the ATHOS private brand is growing in increasing popularity due to its premium quality and its unique cost-performance ratio.

The production facility is located in a region of China where many European brand manufacturers are producing for the European market.

It is for that reason that the Hämmerling Group has been working with TÜV Nord from the start. The TÜV is not only involved in the development and the selection of the production plant, but also in quality monitoring. To date the ATHOS tyre is the only one with the TÜV logo, which guarantees the highest quality standards. Hämmerling staff supervise the production in the factory in China, incoming consignments are checked in Paderborn and imported tyres are regularly subjected to stress testing by TÜV Nord. The tyre manufacturer Hämmerling guarantees the retreading capability of the ATHOS casing. This underscores a quality which equals that of a branded tyre.

The ATHOS brand tyre is now available from around 150 national and international service centre partners, who always have them in stock. You will find all the certified specialist dealers in the Dealer Locator section of our website.

"I love Athos" relates to the emotional experience of the driver. Love means being relaxed, and feeling protected and secure. Drivers also experience this with ATHOS truck tyres due to the excellent grip and handling characteristics of the tyres; you can always rely on them, especially on snow.
